V.O. EAGLE ROCK CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

The Importance of a Christian School
Jesus said, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4) For the past several decades it appears that our nation has determined to become a secular people. No Word, just bread; no supernatural, just natural.

From the denying prayer in school to forbidding any display of religious objects in public places (including a closed Bible on a teacher's desk).   The fruit of this removal of Christianity from the public square is apparent to anyone who wants to see- a decrease in good things (honesty, morality, literacy, family coherence, etc.) and an increase in bad things (crime, sexual immorality, gun shootings in schools, drugs, alcohol, not allowing public prayer, family breakdown, etc.). Prayer, Bible reading and fear of the Lord were the foundations of learning. Not anymore.

The Word of God said: “Parents are to teach children that God is to be the center of everything in a child’s life.  Probably parents do this effort of teaching Christian values to their children, but when they send them to a non Christian school the children are exposed to the non Christian teachings for seven hours a day, five days a week.
The morals of Christian-family youth are being corrupted even when the lifestyle of there own teachers reflects such anti-Christian views as gay rights, abortion rights, and sex before marriage, with little or not shame. The reason there is little shame anymore is because there is no fear of God anymore. Sadly, our public schools teach subjects simply as if God does not exist.

Bad company corrupts good morals (1 Corinthians 15:33).
Our kids will be exposed to bad company no matter where they go to school.  Sometimes they may even be the bad company. But in a Christian environment, they’ll be much less likely to find themselves surrounded by destructive influences, and far more likely to find positive ones.

VO Eagle Rock Christian Academy offers a refreshing, biblical alternative.  Not only is the Bible taught for what it is – the inspired Word of God – but it forms the foundation of all other texts.  In math, in social studies, in biology, all academic roads lead to God, in whom all knowledge has its origin.  As students will pursue the knowledge of math, science and music in a Christian setting, they will be chasing after the knowledge of God.

The Goal of our Christian Academy is to plant and nurture the Word of God in the hearts and minds of the children.  This goal will be best accomplished because in all settings where home, church and school will send the same message, teaching God’s truth with clarity, conviction and consistency.

The teaching of the Bible as a core subject will be essential to the academic curriculum. As an important part of this core subject it will be teaching about our ministry: at V.O. Eagle Rock Christian Academy the children will learn about our founders, our basics, and our mission of reaching souls and planting churches around the world.

The vision of V.O. Eagle Rock Christian Academy is to guide the students to discover their spiritual gifts and foster a commitment to our ministry.

Our Christian Academy will be a safe place for your children to receive an education.  While not devoid of problems – even severe ones like drug and alcohol use – at our school they will be far less likely to occur, and far more likely to be met with prevention and, in the case, with a firm correction action.

Teachers in our Academy are dedicated men and women that will sacrifice greater monetary rewards to serve where they can do the most intrinsic good.

In addition, our Christian Academy will almost always offer more individual attention because our classes generally will have fewer students.

Our Christian curriculums: ACE paces curriculum; Association Christian School International; Saxon; will teach the students all the regular school subjects but with a Christian perspective and with scriptures from the Bible.

It is our purpose as a Christian school that our students perform at a high level in the classroom and their options upon graduation will be more abundant.

None of this is meant to be a criticism of parents who place their children in public schools.  Nor is it an indictment against well-meaning public school educators.  But the fact remains that public schools are not allowed to give your children the educational experience the Bible demands.  Regardless of what you may think about Christian school, we encourage you to seek God’s thoughts on the matter and choosing to send your children to our Christian Academy.
